The company plans to open a restaurant at 7970 N. Academy Blvd. first, followed by one at 538 W. Garden of the Gods Road and another at the intersection of Dublin and Tutt boulevards, according to a news release. Each of the fast-food restaurants will feature a drive-through window and seat around 50 people.
“Taco Bueno is thrilled to have selected Colorado Springs for our first market expansion in six years,” Kenn Miller, Taco Bueno’s vice president of development, said in the release. “Colorado Springs consumers have been posting requests to social media asking Taco Bueno to build here for years, and we’re excited to introduce them to our take on freshly prepared, signature Tex-Mex tacos, burritos and nachos.”
These are slated to be the company’s first Colorado stores, bringing to seven the number of states in which the chain operates. Taco Bueno currently runs stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome Taco Bueno as the newest member of the Pikes Peak business community,” Al Wenstrand, chief business development officer for the Colorado Springs Regional Business Alliance, said in the release. “Not only is Taco Bueno growing, as this represents its first new market expansion in six years, but it demonstrates that the Colorado Springs market is robust and growing.”
The company is actively looking to hire more than 100 people in the region, the release said. Online employment applications are available at tacobueno.com/employment.
